The Peanuts Movie is a 2015 family animation based off of the classic Charles Shultz comic strips. Let me just start off this review by saying that this is how you do an adaptation! This is one of the best movies of the year for sure. Now, I grew up with the Peanuts comic strips, specials, and hell, I even used to play the PS2 game Snoopy vs. The Red Baron. Needless to say, I am a huge fan of the Peanuts and this pays so much attention to the source material. One of the best things is the animation style. The animation used in this movie is perfect. It is very close to the comic styling of Charles Shultz. They even occasionally find ways to show parts of the Peanuts comic strips into the movie. And that is always a good thing. This movie continues the tradition of using actual kids to voice the characters, so there are no big names to distract from the movie. The story is about Charlie Brown trying to impress the little red-haired girl, who just moved in. Because if 90's family movies have taught us anything, it's that the only problem that kids ever have is moving into a new neighborhood apparently. One other thing I want to mention is that this movie is timeless. There's like two pop songs but they work. There are no iPhones or anything. They even use typewriters in this movie. The Peanuts Movie is amazing and I even liked it more than Inside Out. I can't wait for it to come out on DVD and may go even see it again. I hope this becomes a classic. In the end if you like timeless movies, great animation, the Peanuts characters, and great jokes, than the Peanuts Movie is the movie for you! SCORE: 8.9/10
