The Punisher Review

The Punisher is a 2004 crime drama based on the comic book character of the same name. It was written and directed by Jonathan Hensleigh. It stars Thomas Jane and John Travolta. It is about ex-FBI agent Frank Castle trying to kill Howard Saint and his men after they murder his entire family. This movie is one of the most underrated movies I've ever seen. People don't seem to really like this movie and I don't understad why. It is a fantastic film with the best version of The Punisher, it has a great score, a high level of brutality, it is very comic accurate and is just all around awesome. Now, this is a Marvel film, and Marvel is usually known for making fairly light-hearted superhero movies. This is not a light-hearted superhero movie. This movie has blood, gore, stabbings, shootings, chid death, domestic abuse, alcoholisim, swearing, nudity, prostitution, heroin, etc. I don't even really consider this a superhero movie, even though it is based on a Marvel comic book. The film is very dark and very brutal. But what did you expect? The guy's name is The Punisher. Everyone in the movie is an amazing actor, well, except for Rebecca Romijn's character. There are some scenes in this movie that are hard to watch. I mean straight out realistic graphic violence. As bad as it is, I still love that shit! Another great thing is that the cinematography is beautiful. There are amaizng astablishing shots as well as all other shots. This film is beautiful and very well made. That about captures the entire film. You should watch this movie. Don't listen to IMDb or Rotten Tomatoes, they are wrong. This is my favorite revenge film of all time if Die Hard 3 dosen't count. One of it's only flaws is that it occasionally suffers from a lazy script. In the end, if you're looking for an amazing underrated brutal beautifully filmed and acted movie with an occasionally lazy script and some slow moments, Punisher just might be the movie for you!
