Pontypool is a 2008 horror movie directed by Bruce McDonald and written by Tony Burgess. It stars Stephen McHattie, Lisa Houle and Georgina Reilly. The movie is about a virus infecting a small Ontario town. Our three main characters are in this broadcasting studio because they run a radio station and the story is basically them in the studio trying to surrvive. This is a very interesting premise and I could even see this being a classic in the future. I mean it's got memorable characters, very intense scenes, new ideas, a perfect runtime, some smart dialouge (the keyword being 'some') and a nice claustraphobic feel. This movie has more or less scarred me for life because of one particular scene. I won't spoil anything, but there is this one moment where they are talking to this guy over a walkie talkie and you hear something and it is terrifying and horrific. Anyways, Pontypool is a flick I will most likely watch again and there is a lot to like about the movie...however there are quite a few flaws. For starters, the script, particularly near the end, becomes lazy and nonsensical. There are also some akward moments throughout the film that are a little weird to sit through. There are also elements of a forced romance which, while not as bad as some of the other stuff, get's a little irritating at times. In the end, Pontypool suffers from lazy writing, an unsatisfying ending and akward moments, but has enough good acting, claustrophobia, originality, charm, wit, and creative lack of music to keep you coming back. If you want to be scared, grossed out, on the edge of you seat, and can handle some akward moments than Pontypool just may be the flick for you!

SCORE: 8.4/10
